Well it’s a happy New Year greeting from the Cobra Guy and interesting news from the Deltek team with the release of Deltek Cobra build 5.01.789. This release is not referred to as a hotfix, rather it’s a Regulatory release that introduces the IPMR format 3 report and UN/CEFACT XML support.
IPMR Format 3
In response to the new IPMR DID, Deltek have added new formats to the All Reports section of the system. If you updated to HotFix 18, you will have already seen the IPMR Formats 1, 2, 4 and 5 which came out with that release. The required changes from CPR Format 3 to IPMR Format 3 were a little more involved and required additional changes to the software to support this updated format.
Specifically this report now provides time-phased data for significant changes to the baseline. These changes are marked as significant by the user in the Edit Comment and Change Number page of the Project Audit wizard. This reduces the number of pages of data that the Format 3 ordinarily creates by showing only significant changes.
The IPMR Format 3 can now be configured to report in hours rather than currently by changing the “AggregationResults” property in the Report Definitions to the following:
<Property Name=”AggregationResults” DataType=”ArrayList” ReadOnly=”0″>HOURS</Property>
UN/CEFACT XML Import and Export
The UN/CEFACT Import and Export feature now support all the 2012 IPMR CPR formats. Evidently this capability utilizes the wInsight DLLs for this. But don’t worry, if you don’t have wInsight installed on your system, Cobra will install the necessary wInsight DLLs as part of the update package, so you’ll be good to go on that. If you do have wInsight installed on the system, make sure you’re using version 6.5.1 which includes the correct version of the DLL for export.
Report Wizard Update for IPMR Format 2
There’s a new page that appears in the wizard when you are running the IPMR Format 2. It allows you to select which elements of the IPMR summary will be included in the body and bottom-line of the final report. For all non-add IPMR Format 2 Summary elements, there will be an “N” noted on the report.
Ordinarily I’d have included some screen shots of the changes so you could get a preview of what to expect. However, time is very short and I’ll try and get to this later in the month if my project workload allows.
